DRIVING IN MONACO
Monaco is beautifully place between Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. The best way of traveling this mystifying country is by car. For driving in Monaco, the following types of driver permits may be used: a Monegasque driver license, an European Union driver license, and a valid foreign driving permit. Drivers must carry their driving permits and be ready to show them to an official on demand. Every person residents in Monaco and holds a valid foreign driving permit must exchange it for a Monegasque driver license within a year Monaco residency.

Drive on the right side; overtake on the left.

The minimum age to drive a car is 18 years.

It is compulsory to wear a seat belt for drivers and passengers in front and rear seats.

Only children from 10 years may be ridden in the front passenger seat.

While driving, cellular telephones may only be used with a hands-free system.

Third party insurance is obligatory.

Children under 10 years must travel in the rear seat and wear seat belts or be strapped into proper child seats.

A warning triangle and high-visibility waistcoat must be carried in a car.
SPEED LIMITS
The speed limit is: in the towns 50 km/h (31mph), on major roads – 100 km/h (62 mph), on highways – 120 km/h (74 mph).
SOME INFORMATION
In Monaco, there are different categories of the parking: public parking, permanent parking, night only parking, and employee parking. Permanent parking is only for resident of Monaco whose vehicles are registered in Monaco. Night only parking allows parking at fixed hours. Employee parking allows parking only daytime in zones close to the place of work.
